Checkout · Your details
When you click Buy on Purchase Credits, a secure checkout window opens over the page. It is run by Paddle, our payment partner, and has two steps: Your details, then Payment. This page explains the first step.
What this step is forTell Paddle where to send your receipt, and which country's tax applies.

Typical next stepCheckout · Payment.
- Amount due nowThe total you will pay, including VAT. It changes with the country, and when a company adds its VAT number.
- Add discountEnter a discount code here if you received one. The totals update straight away.
- Add VAT numberFor a company purchase — see buying for a company below. Shown for countries where a VAT number applies.
- Email addressRequired. Paddle sends your receipt — and, for a company, the invoice — to this address. It does not have to be your dev-doc sign-in email: a company can enter its billing or accounting address.
- CountryRequired. It is pre-selected from your location — change it if it is wrong. The country decides the tax in the summary.
- ZIP / PostcodeAsked for some countries, such as Germany.
- ContinueMoves on to Payment. Nothing is charged by this step.
Below the summary the order lists the product (dev-doc), the credits you picked and the quantity — one order is always one item — then Subtotal, VAT and Due today.
Buying for a company — Add VAT number
To have the invoice issued in your company's name, click Add VAT number in the order summary, before you pay. You can do this on either step.
- VAT numberYour company's VAT (tax) number, including the country prefix — for example DE…
- Company nameAs it should appear on the invoice.
- Street, Town/CityThe company's billing address. Scroll the form for the remaining fields.
- Close (×)Closes the form and returns to the order summary without changes.
- State/County, Country, ZIP/PostcodeThe rest of the address. Country and postcode are taken over from Your details. All fields are required.
- Add VAT numberPaddle checks the number and recalculates the tax in the summary — for example, a business purchase from another EU country is usually shown without VAT.
- CancelCloses the form without changes.
Then continue and pay as usual: the receipt and invoice show your company's name, address and VAT number.
Tip: enter your accounting department's email as the email address, so the invoice lands where it is needed.
Other parts of the window
- Not you? Change — below the window, Paddle shows the email it will use. Click Change to correct it.
- Language — the language selector below the order summary switches the checkout's language.
- Close (×) — closes the window without charging anything. The order stays in Your purchases as Awaiting payment; click Resume payment to continue where you left off.
- Footer — the line at the bottom of the screen says the order is conducted by Paddle.com as reseller and Merchant of Record, which also handles order-related inquiries and returns. That is why your receipt and your card statement show Paddle's name.
Your card details never reach dev-doc. Everything you enter in this window goes straight to Paddle.
