Troubleshooting a failed run
When a run cannot finish, the project shows Failed together with a short reason. This page lists the reasons you may see and what to do about each.
Where to find the reason
- On My Projects, a failed card shows the reason in red under its status. Click Read more for the full explanation and step-by-step advice.
- The same reason appears in a strip above the tabs when you open the project, and in your Messages.
Common reasons and fixes
Getting your code
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Repository could not be found | Open the link in a browser; check the spelling of owner, repository and branch. Private repository? Import it with an access token. |
| Access to the repository was refused | The repository is private or your token expired. Create a fresh token with read access and import again (or update it under Edit connection for a tracked repository). |
| The repository host asked us to slow down / could not be reached | A temporary problem at the repository host. Wait a few minutes and try again. |
| The uploaded file was no longer available / could not be processed | Upload the zip file again. Check that it opens on your computer. |
Unpacking
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The archive could not be opened | The file is not a valid zip or is damaged. Re-create the zip and upload it again. |
| There was not enough space to extract the project | The project is unusually large. Remove build output, dependencies and large media files from the archive and try again. |
Reading your code
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The unpacked source code was not there / The project files were not on disk | The stored copy of your code is missing. Re-analysing does not download again — import the project again, or use Refresh documentation on a tracked repository. |
| No readable source files in the project | The archive contained only binaries, generated files or documents. Check you imported the right repository or folder. |
| Module detection / reading the source code did not complete | Usually temporary. Re-analyse incrementally. If it repeats, send us feedback with the project name. |
Writing documentation
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The AI model returned nothing usable | Temporary. Re-analyse incrementally; finished sections are kept. |
| The selected AI plan is not available | The pricing model of this project is no longer offered. Pick another one on the card, then re-analyse. |
| Documentation was not built because the code analysis was incomplete | An earlier step did not finish. Re-analyse incrementally. |
Account & credits
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| You ran out of credits during the analysis | Top up on Purchase Credits, then re-analyse incrementally. |
| Your AI access was disabled / The AI service was unavailable | Usually temporary on our side. Try again later; if it persists, contact us through Feedback. |
General advice
- Try incremental first. It keeps everything that already finished, so a retry is quick and cheap.
- Re-analysing does not re-download. If the problem is with the code itself (missing, wrong repository, expired token), import again or refresh a tracked repository.
- Still failing? Click Feedback, choose 👎, and mention the project name. A screenshot is attached automatically if you allow it.
